Here are my top lists of Smartphones that offer the best cameras of 2017. The phones included here are only those that I have tested and reviewed personally. However, this is list is purely subjective, so my opinions might be different from yours.
Best Camera Phones that I have tested
1. OnePlus 5T
What makes it great?
- 4K looks amazing and takes amazing videos even on low light
- IS (Image Stabilization) works 100% and it is Optical Image Stabilization
- 1080p @ 60fps also looks great and offers much usable shot compared to the Huawei P10 on low light
- Pro mode allows a lot of options
- Amazing Audio Quality pick up from the Dual Microphones and noise cancellation actually works
- Front Camera takes decent 1080p videos with EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization)
- Still Photos look amazing on good lighting and above average on low light
Some issues:
- Camera UI needs a bit more polish
- Wide Angle/Portrait/Bokeh isn’t as good compared to the Huawei P10 and Xiaomi Mi 6
- 4K video shooting is only limited to 10 minutes per video.

2. Huawei P10

What makes it great?
- The Camera UI is a shutter bugs dream, a lot of customization available and shooting modes
- Amazing camera performance especially on good lighting
- Bokeh or Wide Angle Shots look great, creamy looking bokeh
- Low light performance is one of the best too on this price range
- 4K video has similar performance with the OnePlus 5T
- Very good audio quality pick up from the Dual Microphones
- 1080p @ 60fps brilliant quality on very good quality
- Front camera can capture 1080p@30fps with EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization)
- Front Camera is best for Video Blogging
Some Issues?
- 1080p@60fps only has EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization)
- 1080@60fps low light performance isn’t that good compared to the OnePlus 5T

3. Xiaomi Mi 6 or Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is tied
The Xiaomi Mi 6 and Xiaomi Mi Note 3 has essentially the same dual rear cameras. Honestly, both Smartphones performs the same overall.
What makes it great?
- These two phones are actually identical in terms of the rear camera performance.
- Amazing Bokeh or Portrait shots
- Camera performance is impressive especially on good lighting
- Capable of shooting 4K @ 30fps with great quality on very good lighting
- 4K and 1080p@30fps has Optical Image Stabilization
- The Front Facing Camera of the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is actually slightly better than the Xiaomi Mi 6
Some Cons:
- Low light performance isn’t the best
- No 1080p @ 60fps, only limited to 1080p
- Audio Quality is average from the Dual Microphone

What makes it great?
- Dual 12 mp Camera with secondary Telephoto lens
- Great shots especially on very good lighting
- Portrait mode offers very similar performance to the Xiaomi Mi 6
- Bokeh shots look good and creamy
- Fast Shutter speed and capture
- Camera performance is comparable to the Xiaomi Mi 6 in terms of overall quality
- Essentially the same camera UI and features available are identical to the Xiaomi Mi 6
Some Cons:
- 4K video is less than 20fps, unusable on most uses
- No IS (Image Stabilization on Video)
- No the best on low light
- no 1080p@60fps
- Poor Audio Quality from the Microphones
