Was doing school work when computer blue screened. Brothers computer has blue screened 2-3 times already and both these systems are fairly brand new.

Hey guy, just found this subreddit hoping you can help.

My Specs (built a week ago):

Windows 10

Ryzen 3 1200 - overclocked to 4.0GHz @1.27V

8gb 2400MHz - overclocked to 2993MHz

gtx 970

do you need more specs?

Brothers specs (bought a prebuilt a week ago):

Windows 10 home

STOCK ryzen 1400

8gb ram

rx580

So I was doing some school work on eclipse (java coding) and had around 5-6 programs running (discord, eclipse, chrome with 5 tabs, file manager, a java app, and paint.net). And these programs have been open for around 4 hours (1 of those hours in the middle the computer was asleep). I got an huge blue error from windows saying something went wrong and the computer shut down. Restart the computer and right now its fine.

Could this be due to overclocking? My brothers computer, which has a stock ryzen 1400, has already blue screened 2-3 times while running a game on cemu (wii u emulator - requires high single core speed and hogs cpu and ram) and he bought it a week ago.

I tried to see if there was anything i could change in the bios and turned off Cool'n'quiet, googling it said that it changes the clock speeds and voltages when the cpu is at idle to reduce heat, was that a good idea?

Thanks for the help.
