Relatively new Windows 10 laptop random shutdown on battery

So my relatively new Gigabyte Aero (high-end) laptop started dying randomly when on battery (it's happened at 80%, 60%, 50%..). It powers off and wont power on past BIOS unless I plug in the AC adapter. Running powercfg -energy in CMD shows that last charge was full designed capacity which is expected since it's a new laptop. I'm stumped. Any ideas?
