[Buying Advice] Selling T3i to go smaller. a5100 vs a6000?

I am working on selling my T3i, canon lenses, and accessories and should have enough to cover the a5100 OR a6000, whichever I decide. I am making the move to this platform to get a smaller camera that I will use more often than my current setup as well as newer features such as wifi picture transfer to my iPhone. I plan to use this new camera for vacations, hikes, etc. Often it will be just myself and my fiancee so i think that the selfie screen of the a5100 would be a valuable feature. However I worry about missing the EVF from the a6000. I know that either camera can be paired with an app to allow for live view from a smartphone, but I do not see myself holding both the smartphone and the camera in order to be able to take a selfie. I am not too worried about the control scheme differences between the two cameras, since I think that over time I will adjust to either. I never really got too advanced with the settings on the T3i, so I think a couple of button presses on the a5100 would be okay, however in the future it may be beneficial to be able to quickly switch to auto mode like the a6000 offers through the mode dial to get that shot that I just have to have as soon as the camera turns on.A note on lenses: I do not plan on purchasing additional lenses for this setup for at least a year and primarily plan to stick with the kit lens until I can truly determine what lenses would suit me best. I made the mistake of buying and selling lenses with the Canon setup unnecessarily without spending enough time with any one lens to truly know what suits me best (except for the obvious advantages of having the canon 10-22 at one point).
