Is the Chuwi Lapbook 12.3 still a good choice in 2018? I had this Notebook for over 8 months already and so far it has exceeded my expectations. Read my full pros and cons.
Chuwi Lapbook 12.3 – 8 months after
8 months after, is it still a good choice?
- Yes, it still offers great value for the price. I especially loved the screen in this notebook, it features a 2.7K Fully Laminated Screen with a 3:2 Aspect Ratio, it is perfect for Photoshop.
Is it good enough for daily task?
- Well, underneath is only an Intel Apollo Lake N3450 Celeron Chipset, which doesn’t really offer impressive performance. But good enough for light applications. It can handle Photoshop pretty well and the 6 GB RAM is enough also for Web browsing using Google Chrome.
- The thermals are also good, it runs cool with no overheating issues.
Good for gaming?
- Unfortunately no, mainstream games like Dota 2, LOL and CS Go aren’t playable. So you can only play light games on it.
Connectivity?
- Stable, fast with no issues. So far, I’ve had no problems with the Wireless in this notebook. It has an Intel Dual Band 3165 Wireless Chip.
Battery Life?
- So far after 8 months, the battery hasn’t degraded as much. I am still getting about 4 hours of battery life on a single charge. the Charger also is working perfectly.
Issues or Cons?
- It supports M.2 SSD expansion but the type of SSD Supported is not easy to find and expensive.
- The Loudspeakers sound tiny with average audio quality
- And lastly, take note that this is a non touch screen, so no support for Stylus.
