After extensive testing of the Elephone U Pro, I have finalize this review. All I can say is that the phone is gorgeous, fast and has impressive connectivity but sadly letdown by the unoptimize software, that ruins the whole experience.
Impressive hardware but ruined by faulty Software
FULL GAMING TEST
This final review was done because I had to wait for the update to supposedly fix the camera. If you want to know about it, watch the video below
Pros:
- Premium Looks – The Elephone U Pro is expensive and built well, it has dual sided glass design and has excellent ergonomics.
- Infinity Flexible Screen – Essentially a curve screen, the image quality is above average. However, you may notice a slight yellowish tinge, noticeable on white or clear backgrounds
- Impressive Multitasking and Gaming Performance – The Snapdragon 660, Adreno 512 and 6 GB RAM underneath pretty much sums it up. The performance is very similar to the Xiaomi Mi Note 3. Gaming is also superb
- 128 GB Storage – The huge storage coupled with support for MicroSD Memory Expansion, you can stretch the limit of the storage.
- Android Oreo – The phone already runs Android Oreo out of the box. It is also clean with barely any bloatwares and the UI is looks great and complements the screen perfectly.
- Dual SIM Support – Call Quality is above average, as well as 4G LTE performance is stable and reliable.
- Dual Band Wireless – The wireless performance is also impressive, on my test, I did not experience any connectivity issues.
- Fast GPS – GPS is accurate to within 3 meters and can be use for point to point navigation without issues.
- NFC – Near Field Communication is supported as well as Miracast
- 8 hours battery life – Battery life isn’t an issue, I was able to get up to 7 to 8 hours of casual use and about 3 hours of gaming on a single charge. The charger is also very quick, it comes with a 9V 2A or 12V 1.5A Fast Charger
Cons:
- Software Bugs (Camera in Particular) – Even after the fix or update was released, it still hasn’t resolve the problem when IS (Image Stabilization) is turned on.
- Pricey – The price puts it in direct competition to a much better phone, the Xiaomi Mi 6 or the Xiaomi Mi Note 3.
- Goodbye 3.5mm Audio Jack – If you want to plug your headphone, better bring the Adapter with you all the time.
- Not the fastest Fingerprint ID – The rear Fingerprint ID has a slight lag and is accurate to about 7 out of 10 times.

Could have been a great phone…
All I can say is that, this phone could have been the phone to beat. It clearly has great potential but sadly ruined by unoptimize Software. The Camera probably is its Achilles Heel. Those faults could have been easily ignored if the price was much lower.
