Ubuntu 16.04 LTS won't boot after installing libinput

My Dell XPS 13 9360 is dual booted with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Windows 10.

I installed libinput via the instructions on this thread. (Link )

I did "sudo apt install xserver-xorg-input-libinput" and then edited the file "sudo vi /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-libinput.conf" with the given text.

When I logged off, my screen turned black and displayed a "/dev/nvme0n1p5: clean, 325848/6643712 files, 3112705/26555392 blocks" message.

I turned my laptop off by holding down the power key and turned it back on. When I try to boot Ubuntu, I get the same message. It's a black screen with white text in the top left corner saying "/dev/nvme0n1p5: clean, 325848/6643712 files, 3112705/26555392 blocks".

What can I do to fix this? Thanks.
