So i built my gaming PC early last year and it's been great up until a few weeks ago. Now some games stutter so much that they're unplayable, games that didn't previously stutter. I've had a look around the web to see if i can find out what my issue might be, but in most cases, it seemed to point to their RAM or CPU being at 100%. Mine never hits 100% in any game, even when stuttering. The GPU seems fine (to me), games such as Rocket League and Fortnite (BR) run really smoothly maxed out graphically.
The main two games that my PC seems to give up with are PUBG and GTA V. Both stutter like crazy, jumping from 60fps to 25 to 10 to 40 and back to 60 even when i am not moving. I know PUBG is a handful on PC's but the beta ran better for me than this, and again, it'd had been great up until a few weeks back.
On both games, my CPU sits around 60% usage, RAM 80% and the HDD at 10% (PUBG is on an SSD).
My specs are;
- Windows 10 Pro
- Intel i7 6700 3.5ghz (4ghz Turbo) (Non K)
- Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR4 @ 2666mhz
- ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard
- ASUS GTX 970 STRIX OC (4GB)
Has anyone got an idea on what might be happening here? Any advice would be awesome. Thanks!
